Los elementos de final de serie enumerativa del tipo "y todo eso", "o cosas así", "y tal", "etcétera" en el discurso oral en español. Perspectiva textual
Resumen
El estudio de las series enumerativas en el discurso oral en español nos ha permitido observar cómo un porcentaje importante de dichas series finaliza con un marcador de cierre del tipo y todo eso, o cosas así, y tal, etcétera. Este artículo analiza la caracterización, tipología y funciones de estos marcadores, si bien sólo desde la perspectiva textual (en artículos posteriores se hará desde las perspectivas interactiva y sociolingüística). En cuanto a la tipología, estableceremos tres tipos de relaciones entre estos marcadores y los elementos integrantes de la serie enumerativa: a) relación de adición (positiva y negativa); b) relación de disyunción y c) relación de suficiencia; por lo que respecta a las funciones, diferenciamos entre funciones habituales primarias: a) con contenido semántico y pragmático: la implicación categorial; b) con sólo contenido pragmático: el cierre de la serie; y funciones secundarias: a) con contenido semántico y pragmático: la abreviación discursiva; b) con contenido semántico y pragmático: la atenuación de certeza; c) con contenido pragmático: la compleción tripartita; y d) con contenido pragmático: rearticulador de relleno.
Abstract
The study of enumerative listing sequences in Spanish spoken discourse allows us to observe that a relevant number of these sequences end with a closing marker of the type “y todo eso” (‘and all that’), “cosas así” (‘things like that’), and “y tal” (‘and so on’), among others. This paper deals with the characterization, typology and functions of markers of this type, albeit from a textual perspective alone, thus provisionally postponing their investigation from an interactional as well as a sociolinguistic perspective for forthcoming papers. Regarding typological considerations, three types of relationship can be established between the marker elements, on the one hand, and the elements within the enumerative sequence, on the other: a) an addition relation (positive and negative), b) a disjunction relation, and c) a sufficiency relation. With respect to the functions performed by the markers under scrutiny here, a distinction will be made between common primary functions, on the one hand, and secondary functions, on the other. Within the former type, a further two-fold classification is presented, as follows: a) those involving semantic and pragmatic import: the categorial implication, b) those featuring pragmatic content alone: the closing of a sequence. Within the latter, a fine-grained four-fold classification is posited, which runs as follows: a) those featuring semantic and pragmatic content: discursive abbreviation; b) those involving semantic and pragmatic content: attenuation in certainty; c) those involving pragmatic content alone: tripartite completion; and d) those featuring pragmatic content only: a filler reformulatory element.
